Workshop Ceramics
The ceramic class is divided into two sessions.
You can book a session for a group of 6–8 people.
-
First class (Handbuilding): Explore the basics of ceramics and experiment with different techniques.
-
Second class (Glazing): About a month after the first session, you’ll glaze your pieces and bring your creations to life.

Day one (3 hours)
This day you will learn basic handbuilding techniques (no wheel throwing) and create a 2-4 of your own pieces. This can range from a small espresso cup to a vase or a sculpture. We work with white earthenware clay that is perfect for beginners.

Drying and bisque firing
After you've created your work it is time for it to dry a few days so it looses all moisture. Once it is bone dry we will put it in the kiln to fire it for the first time, the bisque fire.

Day two (2-3 hours)
Your pieces are ready to be glazed ("painted"). You will learn about the wonder that is glazing and apply it to your pieces.

Glaze firing
Your pieces are fired to 1040 degrees which takes 9-11 hours and then cool off. During this they will develop their colours.

Pick-up
You can pick up your pieces as a group or do it individually, whatever you prefer.

Times/ days can be discussed, as what is available.
